Prep for the Final Leg

June 22-23, 2014

Laundry day again.  With our heading off to sea again this week and the location of the next laundry opportunity unknown, everything needs to get done.  The challenge at the marina laundry here is the language barrier.  There are also over 300 boats but only 4 washers and 2 dryers.  Timing is important.  Ken and I carried all of the laundry the half mile to the laundromat and got it started.  I put the clothes in the machines, but the woman overseeing the operation puts the coins in and charges me at the end for all of my machine use.  With the limited dryers they save time by having the dryers permanently set at an extremely high temperature.  When the first load was completed I had to leave the sheets in a bucket for five minutes to cool before I could handle them.  It will be interesting to see how long this clothing and sheets all last with this process.
