Beaufort, NC

Beaufort Docks is another of our favorite spots on the ICW route.  The community is very walkable with easy access to stores and supplies.  The loaner car program at the marina also helps.  We spent a night with our friends Ken and Suzi whom we had met and sailed with in the Caribbean in 2008.  Bob and Ken had also done two trips together delivering, first our boat and then theirs, from Beaufort to Cape Cod that same year.  Ken has agreed, to our delight, to crew with us on the crossing from Bermuda to the Azores and on to Gibraltar.  Suzi will join us in the Azores and again in Gibraltar to sail to Morocco and tour.  We are looking forward to it.  Ken has sailed most of his life and owned boats, so he brings a lot to the team.  We spent our last evening together having dinner at the Ruddy Duck in Morehead City.  Cute place.
