May 1 – June 22, 2023 — We arrived back in Barcelona on the first of May ready to start the season with some boat projects. Varnishing, always on the list, refrigeration repairs, fire extinguishers, head maintenance, etc. This time we also had the life raft serviced, which includes inflating it as if in an emergency. Everything worked perfectly and it was great to see how solid it is – even better than I had thought it would be. In spite of that we hope to never have to get into it at sea!
We have also enjoyed being at the RCNB Yacht Club, an active group of sailors and racers. Several invitational regattas have been sponsored here and we always enjoy the energy it brings as well as seeing all of the different boats. RCNB has been selected as one of the host Yacht Clubs for the 37th America’s Cup races in 2024. We are looking forward to getting involved and volunteering for the events.
