Rocky Rolly

Wednesday/Thursday, Oct 15 – 16, 2014 –

The winds shifted and picked up overnight, and the wave direction followed, resulting in seas that rolled the boat starting about 2 am.  That gets old quickly so we decided to go ahead and leave Calvi in the morning.  We would have loved another day there to explore the area and do some hiking, but that “S” word has now sneaked up on us once again–schedule.  We need to be back in Barcelona before the first of November and need to leave enough time for safe weather windows for the two crossings…first to the Balearics (about 200 miles), then on to Barcelona from there (another 130 miles).  To stay out of the major path of Storms from the Golfe de Lion we decided to drop further south before heading west.
